Wow....I like the original cartoony style as well. Really, your quality is just as good (I know realistic may be harder.) Still I'd love to see more of the toony style since I didn't follow you back in the day. Super talented!
while i like both i believe your style has been what has changed the most. One seems more cartoony and the otehr is more realistic. I do love both of your styles but for some reason the cutesy (cartoon aka before) stands out a little more to me here. I do believe it may be the style itself (im more draw to cartoony styled things). Also teh color on the before makes it pop a little more. I deffinantly see improvement from before and after but it is hard for me to chose which i like better because of the style difference. I think that the after is way more accurate in anatomy than the before. You have really improved over the years.
I deffinantly like the Teasing you recieve for the after compated to the before! anyway! Great improvement tho i do like your old cartoony style a lot!!!!!
thank you for the comment. there does seem to be something in the cartoony piece that's missing in the newer version. i'm working on incorporating that into how i'm drawing now. I'm hoping with more practice i'll be able to come up with a happy mix of the two
Wow, you've come a long way in 3 years, wonder how good you'll be in 2015! There's something to be said about the old version being cute, and it definitely works, but your fundamentals are so much stronger in the new version. Your lines are strong, your composition is seriously improved, and of course your sense of anatomy and pose has progressed immeasurably. The old version is the kind of art that can get you some real consideration, but the new version can get you some serious work. And the great thing about strong fundamentals is that they can inform and improve your work even when you depart from classic illustration and go back to a more cartoony style, if you choose to do so. Keep on keepin' on, your work gets visibly better every time you post!
thanks for the comment. it seems the more i study and try and learn how to draw, the more my work seems to change. it's a change I didn't really notice too much until recently. It's made me try and incorporate some of what i use to draw, with how i'm drawing now. I'm hoping that with more practice, i'll be able to switch between styles without any hesitation, or find a nice balance between them. Hey if you know where i can get some serious work. let me know. there's not much of it here in W.V.
thank you. glad you like my earlier work. the change was inevitable though. the more i draw and begin to understand how to draw, the more it seems to change. maybe in time my work will progress to the point where i'm able to combine the old with the new
