bgirl by MarioChavez bgirl by MarioChavez
9x12 inch bristol board, another quick piece, well, quick for me. took two hours. these might be a bit rougher than the ones that take a lot longer, but i like that. there's more confidence to the lines i think. and that always makes a big difference .

just a pen. sometimes i'll use brush and ink, especially on larger pieces. I have used pencils on quite a few. mainly 2h

Sexy-cool in an off-beat, off-angle kind of way. I adore your takes on Batgirl, Catwoman and Wonder Woman. Sexpot pin-ups that gets at the heart of their appeal but always something strong and confident in their posture and how they're situated on the page and within the frame (no matter their predicament).

I like the costume design, for a "quick one" drawing is sharp, I'd pay money for that at a Con.

Is her Bat Line coming out her butt ? Which is about the only place she has in that costume to hide it. lol

She having some trouble in the heels ???

can't really see her heels in this one. it's just really stylized. my girl was at the top of the stairs leaning on the bannister, and was standing in a way i'd never noticed before ( or thought was possible). it was much more exaggerated than this, but did this one to get the general idea out quick. i'll do the other one later though.

it reads a lot more exciting that it actually is :P. was just how her feet were sort of bent sideways opposite of where she was leaning. I'm guessing it's because she use to do ballet, or maybe i just never noticed because i don't look at any other women but her :D

you know mate i love just staring at everyone of your marker works, they're bloody amazing. and i've gotta say the way that you make these incredibly sexy females faces is so elegant. you keep it extremely simplistic but amaze me with every one.

and i must add, using the bat-a-rang to eat up negative space was awesome and looks great. i must say this piece is a knockout mate. even if it was just a two hour piece. looks amazing.

Your one of the better users of copic markers ive seen. Do you use that "blender" marker or just gradually build it up? Beautiful lines though. I dont know if I particularly agree with the way the cape was handled but still beautiful =P

just trying something different with the cape. quicker more confident lines. If i don't start doing that, i'll just stare at the paper for hours, afraid to draw a line out of fear of messing it up. since i'll start doing cons, and offering sketches, speed will be a necessity. so i'm trying not to over think my work anymore. just deciding on a line and doing it.

the markers work like water colors. I saturate the paper, and work while it's still wet, going in with the darker ones while still wet so they blend into each other. at least that's how i do it. i dont use the blender

Aren't some of your works on bristol though? The water doesn't damage the page?

no water, meant that the effect is similar, working wet on wet like you would with watered down acrylics or watercolors
