I do think her skull is a little small (not the one in her hand but the one behind her face!) Is this a consious choice you are making?

thanks. it was initially larger from the back. I thought it would be more pleasing to the eye if the back of her head was a bit smaller, so i thinned it out. i probably cut it too much, but i can always add hair to it and fill it out again. if i drew it in larger, it would be a lot harder to fix :)

Have you ever tried rectangular prisms instead of the "Egg sphere" for heads? Drawing it as a sort of cube and building the curves around the edges helped me to get past making character heads too thin.
